March 19-22, 2019, In Quang Ninh, Commanding Department of Coast Guard 1 carried out a series of preliminary activities to review 2 years of implementing the model of the civil relation “Sea Police accompanying with Fishermen” (2017-2018) and continue to implement the Model in Co To district, Quang Ninh province in 2019. Attending the ceremony were Major General Doan Bao Quyet, Deputy Chief of the Vietnam Marine Police Command, representative of the Editorial Board, Vietnam Sea Magazine, representative of Vietnam Red Cross, companion units and island district authorities.
With the aim of innovating the content, form and improving the quality and efficiency of the civilian work of the Coast Guard in general, Commanding Department of Coastal Guard 1 in particular in the new situation, the action program “Sea Police accompanying with fishermen” in Co To island district is one of practical activities to strengthen the unity of Police and people, strengthen patriotism, love the sea and home islands, thereby raising awareness on civil responsibility for the protection of sovereignty and security in the sea and islands of the country. At the same time, the program also contributes to building island district socio-economic development.
The Vietnam Red Cross extracted funding from the “Joint efforts for homeland island” program to give gifts to policy families, some poor fishermen and disadvantaged women and poor students on the Co To island district (Quang Ninh) with a total cost of 50,000,000 VND (50 gifts, worth 1,000,000 VND each)
