On 10 December 2018, in Bac Lieu City, the Vietnam Red Cross organized a training course on disease control for provincial-level Red Cross staff.
The training took place in 05 days (from 10 to 14/12/2018). Attending training course were health staff from 11 provinces and cities: An Giang, Bac Lieu, Ben Tre, Ca Mau, Can Tho, Soc Trang, Tien Giang, Ho Chi Minh City, Tra Vinh, Quang Tri and Hoa Binh. These are the provinces with with high cases of diseases every year such as dengue fever, foot and mouth disease, malaria, …. Typically TP. Ho Chi Minh City with about 10,000 cases of dengue fever each year.
During the training course, trainees will be provided with updated information on the situation of some common communicable diseases in Vietnam, factors affecting diseases, principles of disease control, stages paragraphs in communicable disease control, participatory training skills and methods.
This is an activity within the framework of the project “Strengthening Capacity of Vietnam Red Cross in Disaster Risk Management, First Aid and Emergency Health Care” funded by United States Agency for International Development.
