Quang Binh: Training of resource trainers on mine risk education

Implementing the agreement between the Quang Binh Red Cross and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), from 6 to 8 December 2018, the provincial Red Cross in collaboration with UNDP organized a training of resource trainers on mine risk education.

After the training, trainees will be resource trainers on mine risk education to train community volunteers on mine risk education, contributing to minimize harms caused by bombs and explosives.

Attending and directing the training course were representatives of the Vietnam National Mine Action Center (VNMAC); Ms. Nguyen Thanh Van – Mine risk education and victim assistance program of the United Nations Development Program; Leaders of Quang Binh Red Cross.

There were 28 trainees from Provincial Youth Union, Red Cross Association, Department of Education and Training, District Military Command, District Red Cross, Department of Education and Training (of Quang Ninh, Bo Trach, Quang Trach districts) and representatives of Commune Peoples Committee, Red Cross, cultural staff of 6 communes implementing the project including An Ninh, Vo Ninh (Quang Ninh), Tan Trach , Thuong Trach (Bo Trach district), Quang Hung commune, Quang Phuong district (Quang Trach district).

During the training, trainees were provided with a comprehensive overview of the Vietnam and South Korea project to overcome the aftermath of the war; an overview of mine risk education; recognize the consequences of landmine/UXO accidents; communication skills; Developing communication plans in the community and in schools …
