American Red Cross Public Health and Safety Services Department Team of 5 instructors along with Jonathan Comyn, Executive Director of Training and Service Delivery and Dr. David Markenson, National Chairman, Scientific Advisory Council were in Vietnam from Dec 10 to 14 overseeing an American Red Cross instructor team teaching First Aid and CPR for medical personnel at Bach Mai Training Hospital in Hanoi. While in Vietnam, Jonathan and David worked several days with the VNRC Health Department staff to share documents, manuals and training materials; orient VNRC on the American Red Cross commercial first aid model; assist VNRC analyze the current state of first aid training in Vietnam; assist in developing a market survey and identifying potential clients; and suggested ways in which American Red Cross may continue to help Vietnam Red Cross achieve its vision of a successful commercial First Aid program. The visit was a resounding success and now comes the follow up.
