From March 27-28, in Pleiku city, the Vietnam Red Cross cooperated with Gia Lai Red Cross in organizing a training course to guide the cash transfer program process for 25 participants from district and communal Red Cross branches of 4 districts located in the disaster areas: Kong Chro, Ia Pa, Kbang and Chu Prong.

The training course provided participants with knowledge such as: Cash transfer programs have been implemented in the world and Vietnam; Types and processes of cash support: direct cash allocation, labor exchange for income generation and coupons/vouchers; The criteria that determine the appropriate type of cash support; Guidelines and quick need assessment forms; Planning and design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation; Establishing feedback mechanism, handling inquiries and complaints; Identifying risks and solutions to mitigate risks; Lessons learned from previous cash transfer programs, cash aid process guidance and implementation of cash transfer program forms …
This is an activity under the “Cash Based Initiative” project sponsored by the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the British Red Cross and the Swiss Red Cross.
